Deep relaxation with TCM

Deep relaxation with TCM - regain inner strength to fight stress, anxiety, depression and chronic fatigue.

"I realized that my biggest enemy was not illness, it was stress."

Stress is one of the most common complaints I get from my clients. Prolonged stress or severe stress can contribute to mental disorders, physical discomfort, chronic fatigue and even burnout. Reports show that people are suffering from these conditions more frequently and more severely than ever before. Conventional medicine treats emotional disturbances such as: stress, depression, anxiety and other related conditions as indicators of possible chemical imbalances in the brain.

  • Anxietyis a feeling of uneasiness, such as worry or fear. Clinical symptoms vary depending on the type of anxiety disorder, but generally include: feelings of panic, fear, and discomfort, sleep disturbances, cold or sweaty hands and/or feet, shortness of breath, palpitations, restlessness, dry mouth, numbness or tingling in the hands, or legs.

Connecting the dots with TKM

TCM believes that physical health problems are related to a person's emotional state (and vice versa). In the theory of TCM, all emotional conditions are not only a matter of the brain, but also of lack and overcrowding of energy in other systems. For example, stress associated with loss, grief, or bereavement causes the upper chest to have Qi energy blockages that affect the lungs and heart. In the case of stress caused by suppressed expression or anger, the system most affected is the liver, whose primary function is to express and transmit the energy of excitement. When it obstructs this flow, TCM considers this condition as Liver Qi stagnation. By obstructing the flow of energy, liver-related problems can also affect the gallbladder meridian, which runs over the shoulders, neck, and sides of the head and forehead. Therefore, people who suffer from stress often manifest headaches, neck and shoulder pain, and stiffness.

How do Chinese herbs help with stress and anxiety?

There are a number of herbs that can improve our stress management abilities by enhancing our calming energy. In addition, Chinese herbs can also address underlying systemic imbalances. These herbs don't reduce stress, but can help our bodies deal with and adapt to different stressful situations, improve athletic performance, increase our energy levels, and reduce stress and anxiety. They can be calming and soothing to the nervous system to promote restful sleep, reduce panic attacks, hyperventilation or stress-induced asthma.

How does acupuncture help with anxiety problems?

Acupuncture helps manage the signs and symptoms of anxiety and depression. Researchers at Georgetown University conducted laboratory studies showing that acupuncture slows the body's production of stress hormones in the sympathetic nervous system.

A study from the University of York in the UK found that acupuncture and counseling (or both) had a powerful positive effect on depression, reducing the extent of depression. The effects lasted for 3 months after the end of the treatment.

Acupuncture is known to balance serotonin and endorphins to promote mental health.
Fine needles will be inserted into certain identified acupuncture points on the meridians that run through the body and correspond to certain organs. Meridians can be thought of as the highway of energy or Qi in traditional Chinese medicine. Acupuncture works by clearing congestion on this energy channel.

How long will it take to get results?

The treatment time depends on the patient and the severity of his symptoms. Some patients report relief after just one acupuncture session. Others may feel a difference within weeks or a month, while after a few months they feel like they did when they didn't have problems. A typical treatment schedule may begin with one or two treatments per week, decreasing in frequency as the patient's symptoms begin to improve.

Lazy Morning

We all know that fatigue is a sign of low energy levels, but very few of us understand that we have different types of energy, and even fewer of us understand the mechanism of energy generation. The creation of energy is not about biochemistry, such as ATP metabolism or the Krebs cycle, but about a philological and holistic understanding of the nature of energy and its production.

Depression and anxiety form low level and/or uncontrolled energy known as Yang energy. In the Yang state, the energy affects the normal functions of the 5 element system, which is the result of low or weak Qi energy, disturbed Qi energy supply due to stagnation of meridians (energy channels) or a damaged system.

The content I'm about to talk about probably won't be interesting to most, but in my opinion, it's exactly the facts that people should be aware of before jumping on a new diet or weight loss program again.

The healing power of deep relaxation

Traditional Chinese medicine helps the body to recover and achieve deep relaxation by enriching the necessary "soothing energy". The relaxation response is a deeply healing state. In fact, this may be the most fundamentally healing state you are capable of experiencing, for it is in this state that all of your innate tendencies toward balance and harmony can be expressed.

The benefits of this particular state are truly due to the deep rest of your body and mind. When you are free of stress and tension, the body's constant tendencies towards balance are given a chance to assert themselves. Every cell has a genetic code or blueprint at its core that shows what perfect harmony, balance and health looks like for you. This plan contains detailed instructions for each individual cell as to its own role in restoring the state of balance.

The Chinese word 鬆 is a state of perfectly balanced tone, physical and mental well-being, in which every muscle is doing exactly what it should. This state is experienced as light, free, open and effortless; but at the same time stable, strong and well rooted.
